Nikolay Petrov is a loan officer, responsible for the relationships with Bulgarian Banks within the European Investment Bank since January 2018. Since 2022, he also became responsible for the relationships with certain financial institutions in Austria, Germany, Hungary and Romania. Nikolay holds bachelor’s degree in finance from the New Bulgarian University and a master’s degree in international business and development rom Birkbeck College, University of London. He started his career with the Bulgarian Credit Rating Agency in 2005 and later on joined Societe Generale’s leasing company in Bulgaria. Between 2008 and 2010, Nikolay worked in the microfinance team of the European Investment Bank. He was part of the investment team managing the European Fund for South East Europe in Frankfurt, before rejoining the European Investment Bank in 2017.
